ABOUT US
Founded in the late 1990s by a group of friends primarily from Mandurah, Western Australia, Flores Village Partners initially focused on small-scale development projects for orphanages in Bali, under the name 'Widhya Asih Australia.' However, a fortuitous encounter with a steel contractor from Flores redirected their efforts towards the impoverished villages of this Indonesian island. Over the following years, their commitment shifted entirely to Flores, culminating in a rebranding to Community Bridge Builders International (CBBI) in 2010. Witnessing the dire living conditions in the Zeu villages near Bajawa propelled their mission to provide essential resources like clean water, medical aid, and educational infrastructure.
Through sustained efforts, they have erected three schools, facilitated access to clean water in over 40 communities, and executed various health projects. In 2015, CBBI became Flores Village Partners, solidifying their dedication to Flores' people and fostering genuine partnerships with local communities. Operating through the Yayasan Flores Village Development Foundation, led by skilled local coordinators like Moses Jala, they continue to enact impactful change, guided by a deep understanding of local dynamics and international development practices.
